Reentry Housing

If you are going through the stress of housing insecurity or homelessness, our bridge housing services can change your trajectory and put the spark of hope back in your life. Harmony Homes for Healing in Northern California, including Oakland and Fairfield, believes a healing home is the first step to a new life. They honor that message with a bridge housing program that prioritizes transitional housing, mental health and wellness support, and a strong network of social service supports. To learn more about our Bridge Housing Services, reach out to the Harmony Homes for Healing team by phone, email, or online.

What are Bridge Housing Services?

If you or your family have been impacted by homelessness or housing insecurity, bridge housing provides temporary housing and supportive services while you heal, regroup and search for permanent housing. The Harmony Homes for Healing teams strive to give you stability and support while you explore your path toward moving into and maintaining permanent housing.

Who is eligible for Bridge Housing Services?

The team at Harmony Homes for Healing provides bridge housing and community support to individuals and families who find themselves without safe housing, including:

  • Men without homes
  • Women without homes
  • Mothers with children
  • Fathers with children
  • Survivors of domestic violence
  • Housing insecure veterans

While some talk about the “school to prison pipeline,” Harmony Homes for Healing is striving to create a “prisons to home pipeline.” Last year we launched our Reentry Housing Program, which provides clean, sober, and trauma-informed living spaces to individuals coming out of local jails and prisons who would otherwise have nowhere to go.

What Bridge Housing Services are available?

We provide many practical forms of assistance, including limited transportation assistance, paid utilities, on-site food pantry access, and household supplies.

In addition to clean and beautiful transitional housing, our Harmony Homes for Healing team provides residents with supportive services like housing deposit assistance, housing case management assistance, life skills training, and peer-to-peer counseling and support groups.

Mental health care is an important part of the work being done by the Harmony Homes for Healing team. We believe that homelessness is a form of trauma that must be addressed so we offer safe spaces to process everything you have overcome.

Certified peer-to-peer counselors conduct weekly group meetings for the Harmony Home for Healing residents that complement their weekly AA and NA meetings. Where 12-step meetings offer vital recovery support to those on a journey to sobriety, group meetings are important for helping the residents connect with each other.

How do I get access to Bridge Housing Services?

You will need a referral from your local county welfare office, case manager, medical provider, or another social service agency. Harmony Homes for Healing is in good standing with mental health professionals in the community, and the team can direct you to the resources you need.
